In a referendum in Taiwan yesterday a proposal to reactivate the Lungmen nuclear power plant was defeated by 53 percent vs 47.
This is a victory for the government which plans to phase out nuclear by 2025. When Tsai Ing-wen was elected in 2016, Taiwan had 6 operating reactors and 2 under construction.
3 of the 6 are closed for good and now the 2 under construction are definitely gone.
It now looks very likely that the 2025 schedule will be kept.
