Arab Commission for Human Rights Probe Mission Does its Job in Gaza

COMMISSION ARABE DES DROITS HUMAINS

International NGO in special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.

The Gaza probe mission mandated by the International Bureau for Humanitarian NGOs(IBH), the Arab Commission for Human Rights (ACHR) and One Justice as a part of the program of the International Coalition against Israeli War Criminals returned to Paris on April, 9th 2009, evening. The mission - the second in two months- included:

Haytham Manna, President of the International Bureau for Humanitarian NGOs, spokesperson of the Arab Commission for Human Rights and coordinator of the International Coalition against War Criminals. This is his 23rd mission in regions of armed conflicts.

Jean François Fechino, a university specialist in sustainable development, environment and effects of banned weapons on it, UN credited expert for several times, author of a UN released report about the use of banned weapons in Iraq and an investigator into the use of banned weapons in Gaza in 2004.

Philippe Favart, one of the top lawyers of the International Coalition against Israeli War Criminals and ex-leader of Belgian Human Rights League. He succeeded in several judicial files for defending innocent victims of the war on terrorism. He is the Secretary-General of One Justice.

Khaled Al Shouli, Jurist, he participated in establishing the biggest Palestinian charity in France, an expert in estimating humanitarian needs in crisis regions. He is the executive director of One Justice.

The mission met with various segments of the Palestinian political and civil society institutions, topped by Al Mezan Center for Human Rights, Al Dameer Association for Human Rights, the Central Commission for Documentation and Pursuit of Israeli War Criminals (Tawtheeq) and a number of NGOs topped by the National Association of Moderation & Development, the Popular Committee Against Siege (PCAS), Gaza Community Mental Health Program, Young Journalist Club, Al-Widad Society for Social Rehabilitation, a number of local societies, branches of the Palestinian Red Crescent and municipalities, the Islamic University, Al-Aqsa University,Members of Legislative Council, Ministries of Health, Social Affairs and Justice plus dozens of witnesses and field visits across the Gaza Strip.

The mission would like to thank Egyptian and Palestinian authorities for the special facilitation they afforded. It would like to thank also Palestinian human rights and charity organizations for the huge, distinguished and effective reception and preparation.

Since their arrival in Paris, members of the mission started preparing several reports, one of them on national and international criminal trials and another one on denying health right from siege to aggression.
