The best way for France to honour the memory of Robert Badinter while honouring itself is to extend its abolitionist work by removing, after the guillotine, nuclear weapons. In accordance with Article VI of the NPT (Non-Proliferation Treaty), France must negotiate their complete elimination with the other nuclear states. Robert Badinter could not, because of his age, engage in this fight, but he was seized with it and wished him good luck. This is an indisputable imperative, approved by seven out of ten French people, who want to be able to say so by referendum.
